La Facultad de Informática Culiacán se complace invitarlo a la “Conferencia Implementing Machine Learning at Appian”, que se llevará a cabo en el Auditorio de nuestra Facultad en punto de las 6:00 p.m., la Conferencia será impartida por el M.C. Manuel Enrique Garcia Fierro is a Senior Software Engineer con 14 años de experiencia en TI, actualmente trabaja en SAP Concur, orgullosamente Egresado de nuestra Facultad en el 2001.

Nowadays there is a lot of interest within the IT industry to implement Machine Learning (ML). This presentation shows and tells the different aspects that a global IT company like Appian must consider to successfully implement an innovative technology, in this case ML. This presentation addresses different questions that executives would ask when Implementing an innovative project like this. For example: do we need to develop ML from scratch? or can we leverage a third-party ML? (Amazon ML, Microsoft, IBM). How much are we going to invest?

M.C. Manuel Enrique Garcia Fierro

M.C. Manuel Enrique Garcia Fierro is a Senior Software Engineer. He currently works at SAP Concur. Manuel has 14 years of experience working for global IT companies including Microsoft, Expedia, Real Networks and SAP Concur. During these years of experience, he has worked building commercial software products developing, designing, testing, leading and managing IT projects. He has experience with a very diverse set of technologies and architectures including both Microsoft and open-source.
Manuel proudly earned his bachelors in Informática at Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa in 2001. However, his passion for technology, continuous grow and learning motivated him to attend graduate education. This year, he earned a MS In Information Technology with academic distinction at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. In 2004, he earned MS in Informatica at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. Also, in 2017 he earned a Master’s of IT Administration at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey.
His latest education at Carnegie Mellon brings him interest to continue his career combining his computer science knowledge along with data analysis, regression models, and machine learning to solve complex problems.
